With Primrose Mosaics, I’m lucky enough to be following two of my passions as a mosaic artist and garden lover, by creating beautiful glass art for outdoor spaces.

I have a fascination for the marriage between glass and light and love the way the light combines with the glass to give ever changing bursts of colours and patterns.

 

Being a creative person, I have always had endless projects on the go and was always in pursuit of new crafts to try. I spent several years as a jewellery maker, using glass beads and gemstones to create my own designs.

 

Then, as a birthday present from my family, I enrolled on a mosaic course and was immediately hooked with the idea of combining my fascination for glass with my love of gardening by creating mosaics for outside.  I came away bursting with inspiration, enthusiasm and ideas and began my exciting journey into designing and hand crafting sculptures initially for myself, family and friends and then for other paying customers.

 

My designs are a product of creative imagination, patience, attention to detail and several cups of tea!   I love the process of weaving colours, textures and patterns into unique works of art. Some projects are meticulously planned, whilst others take a more spontaneous organic approach. I just love the variety. It still takes my breath away, the first time I take a finished product outside and hold it up; the light mixing with the vibrant colours of the translucent glass is absolutely stunning.
